Description

Aestheticism was a late 19th-century movement that prized the aesthetic value of the arts. Items from this period were created to be beautiful, rather than serving moral or instructive purposes. Originating in England, aesthetic style lighting often featured gold highlights, porcelain accents, and nature motifs.

This particular light fixture exemplifies that style with three tubular arms and frosted glass shades, each inscribed with patterns of leaves and flourishing flowers. The arms converge at a lavender porcelain fount, adorned with a hand-painted pink flower, complementing the designs on the shades.

Recently rewired to meet US electrical standards, this fixture combines historical elegance with modern convenience. The rod’s height is adjustable:

For a shorter fixture, the rod can be cut to the desired height.
For a longer fixture, the rod can extend up to 37 inches, with an extra 3 feet of wire available. Adding a canopy and chain can extend the length.
