There are some areas of imperfection as to where the lantern was hand-forged while it was made. Some parts, such as the dome is cast, but other parts, like the spiral posts, are hand-wrought making this lantern one of a kind. The inside of the domed gazebo shaped cage holds a set of 3 candelabra lights that shine a bright and inviting glow. It can also be used outside as long as it is not in direct contact with the elements and hangs under a portico, porch, or canopy.

The fixture has been rewired to meet US electrical standards. It takes three candelabra lights. Each light bulb can use up to a maximum of 60 watts. We recommend using LED lights because they help preserve antique fixtures longer. Antique fixtures must be adapted to modern homes. This fixture requires a canopy and chain that are not included. Please check with your electrician or contractor for additional specifics on installing antique lighting.

There are some areas of imperfection as to where the lantern was hand-forged while it was made. Some parts, such as the dome is cast, but other parts, like the spiral posts, are hand-wrought making this lantern one of a kind. The shackle at the top, from which to hang the lantern has been resoldered.

It can be used outside as long as it is not in direct contact with the elements and hangs under a portico, porch, or canopy. Some areas of rust can be seen on the metal of the lantern from being previously outdoors. If you wish to use it outdoors, we recommend coating it with a protective metal coating such as Rustoleum.
