Does Antique Resources offer shipping?

We do not offer shipping. If you require a professional mover, we can recommend packing and moving companies that may offer transportation insurance. Not all third parties offer liability, please make sure to review their policy prior to booking. We are not responsible for any damages that may incur during the packing, handling, shipping, transportation process, or any other event.

Offer valid beginning October 1, 2021 for a limited time on all approved orders. Any item that can be easily boxed and is no more than 12 in. x 12 in. and less than 20 lbs. applies. Below is a list of items that may be eligible for free shipping:

All orders are processed in 2-3 business days. If we are experiencing a high volume of orders, shipments may be delayed a few days. If there will be a significant delay in the shipment of your order, we will contact you via email or phone.

Can I use my own shipper or moving company?

Of course. We recommend using someone with experience handling antiques or a reputation for handling fragile items. Please keep in mind that we require a Bill of Lading or Shipping Invoice from your shipper. Please email us the required documentation at least 24 hours prior to collection to [email protected]. All shippers or movers will have to sign the shipping invoice agreeing that all the details listed in the document are correct and that they have received every item and package listed in complete and in good condition, absolving Antique Resources from any liability.

What is the pickup address and time frame to give the shippers?

1741 W. Belmont Ave. Chicago, IL 60657 anytime Tuesday – Saturday from 11am – 5pm, CST.

What if I want to return something?

All sales are final, will not accept returns. For online purchases, please inspect the images thoroughly and keep in mind that sometimes the colors in the images might deviate from the original color of the item. If you require additional images or information, please do not hesitate to contact us. We would encourage if you visit the shop to inspect the item prior to purchasing during our shop hours or by appointment.

Who should I contact to schedule pickup?

Contact your shippers and provide them with our store hours so the pickup can be arranged within those hours and they allow themselves enough time to securely pack and inspect the items. Please inform us at least 24 hours prior to the agreed upon date and time that was been arranged by you and the movers.

Will my items be packed by Antique Resources?

No. Your shipper will have to include this service as well as the materials for doing so. Most movers will not insure an item unless they have inspected and carefully packaged the item themselves.

How do I find a shipper and what information should I provide to them?

You can find some of the shippers previous clients have worked with under our Shipping Suggestions document. You are more than welcome to reach out to your shipper of choice. Dimensions, weight, thumbnail images, pickup and delivery address are all useful information to provide to shippers. It is your responsibility to ensure that all items will fit in the designated areas of your delivery location to ensure proper fit.

How long do I have to pick up my purchase?

Purchases must be picked up within our 30-day storage grace period. We will charge a $20 late daily fee per item immediately after the storage grace period ends. An additional 10% will be added to the late daily fee 30 days after the storage grace period ends. The item(s) will not be released until the late daily storage fees are paid in full.

Can I pick up my order or have a friend or relative do so instead of using a shipper?

Yes. The person picking the purchased item(s) is solely responsible for the safe packing, loading, transportation, and will need their own vehicle, packing materials such as blankets, rope, and other necessary supplies. Unless a resale certificate can be used towards your purchase or your friend owns and operates a licensed and bonded shipping company that can provide a Bill of Lading, you will need to pay Illinois state sales tax before your purchase can be released.

Is there a determined pick up area located at the shop?

Depending on the size of your items, they can be picked up through the front entrance or the alley area. For items to be picked up through the front entrance, please keep in mind that items need to be able to fit through our front door which has the following dimensions: H: 78 inches W: 32 inches. For your convenience, Antique Resources has an established loading zone right in front of the shop that is 30ft long. Larger items can be picked up from the alley area. Please keep in mind that trucks will have to be parked in the alley and that the shippers will have to walk down a small section of stairs located through the back. There is an H: 10ft x W: 8ft clearance through the back area. If you are passing by Ravenswood street, there is a bridge with a 13ft clearance.

Does Antique Resources guarantee their items for authenticity?

Yes, Antique Resources guarantees all merchandise for authenticity. Upon request, we can provide you with an insurance appraisal which will include a thumbnail image, description, and dimensions of your items.

Do you purchase antiques from the public or accept items on consignment?

No, Antique Resources has a selective and specific buying strategy nor do we accept items on consignment.

How is sales tax calculated?

If you opt to pick-up your purchase in-store yourself, or ask a friend or relative, sales tax has to be charged.
llinois sales tax of 10.25% will be collected for all Illinois residents unless the interstate commerce exemption applies. 
Illinois Interstate Commerce Tax exemption applies:
– If the purchase is being shipped out of IL with proof of shipment address

– Item is being picked up by a third party shipper that can provide a company’s Bill of Lading

– The item is for resale and a current resale number is confirmed


What type of payments do you accept?

Payment options include cash, check, cashier’s check, money order, wire transfer, Visa, and MasterCard. There is a processing fee of 3% on credit card payments. The maximum amount accepted for an online transaction is $5,000. Therefore, the total amount of your purchase must be equivalent to or less than $5,000. If you wish to purchase a higher amount, please contact us so we can arrange payments.

Is all your inventory found in the website?

No. We have an 18,000 sq ft showroom located at 1741 W. Belmont Ave. Chicago, IL 60657 filled with wonderful and historic pieces. You can visit us and amaze yourself with our inventory items anytime Tuesday – Saturday 11am – 5pm CST or by appointment. If you are looking for a particular item and cannot find it online, do not hesitate to contact us.

Is there parking available if I visit your showroom?

Yes, we have a designated parking lot across the street exclusive for Antique Resources customers. Limited street parking is also available.

What if I want to restore or make some changes to my items? Do you offer restoration services?

We do not restore but can provide reputable referrals. Antique items have normal wear due to age and use. Since quality or condition is subjective, all pieces are sold “as is”. If you desire additional restoration or changes to be made to your purchase, additional time and fees will be required and are subject to a case by case basis.
