Description
Matched set of 19th-century French porcelain tea caddies by Samson, Paris. Square-section bodies with flat bases and sloping shoulders; stepped domed covers with knop finials. Hand-painted in a famille rose palette of pink, purple, iron-red, green, and gilt. Green trellis-diaper and rococo scroll borders at the shoulders; floral bouquets within cartouches on the fronts; single floral sprays to the sides; gilt line borders. Lids decorated en suite. Each caddy is marked on the base with the Samson, Paris mark.
