Condition

The fixture has been rewired to meet US electrical standards. It takes three base lights. Each light bulb can use up to a maximum of 60 watts. More than 60 watts per bulb can burn the alabaster. We recommend using LED lights because they help preserve antique fixtures longer. Antique fixtures must be adapted to modern homes. The crown at the top is part of the fixture and cannot be used flush to the ceiling to cover the electrical box. This fixture requires canopy and chain that is not included. Please check with your electrician or contractor for additional specifics on installing antique lighting. The alabaster bowl has a crack from side to side along the major natural vein of the alabaster. The vein camouflages the crack and adds distinctiveness to the alabaster. The crack has been restored and is intact. The rim has blow holds from the casting process. The gilt bronze has slight scratches from age but is otherwise in wonderful condition. We will be happy to provide additional closeup images upon request.
