Description
This early 19th Century French chandelier cast in the Empire motif details garland swags, laurel wreaths, tassels, a reeded brass center stem emulating a Doric column, acanthus leaf appliques and vines wrapping around the stem surrounded by a serpentine trim. The symmetrical arms are decorated with leaves and topped with grape vines resembling cornucopia of light. All this transports you back to the grandeur and opulence associated with neoclassical idealism.
