Description

This exquisite multicolored 19th-century floral Murano glass chandelier has three lights disguised by a cascade of flowers and leaves, evoking a wild garden. Featuring a scroll center column with a decorative globe and delicate trim. Each facet of this piece is decorated with sprouting botanical details of yellows, pinks, and blues. When illuminated, the handcrafted chandelier acts as a striking floral centerpiece.

The piece is distinguished by the thinness of the blown glass which demonstrates a mastery of such craftsmanship and artistry. The delicate nature of the material allows for a spectacular play of light. The various hues were achieved by adding selected metal oxides to the silica during melting. To achieve the colors, an incredible amount of accuracy is required in terms of proportions and timing. This piece is also rather unique for its use of asymmetry and variations of movement.

Despite the presence of flea-bit chips and other mentioned imperfections, the chandelier’s organic design and three-dimensional structure naturally conceal these flaws, maintaining its stunning and captivating appearance.

This chandelier is rewired to meet US electrical standards. It takes three base-size bulbs, incandescent or LED. This fixture requires a canopy and chain which is not included. Three feet of wire at the top can be adjusted to the preferred height. Glassblown, no part is perfect or identical. Please see all the images, especially the close-ups. Parts are disassembled and require assembly. This fixture will require special handling and shipping by an experienced white glove service experienced in dismantling, packaging, and reassembling upon installation. To ship, it is dissembled. Dimensions without ceiling cover and chain: H=39 in. W=29 in. D=29 in. 20 lbs. It has 3 yellow arms with different colors of flowers: one is blue, one is yellow, and one is pink. The arm with the blue flower is missing the entire leaf and 10% of the petal. The arm with the yellow flower is missing approximately 10% of the petals (see image). The arm with the pink flower is missing approximately 40% of its petals and 40% of the leaf detail (see image). It has three clear stems, one is completely intact, the second is missing a leaf, the tip of a second leaf is broken and the third one is missing two leaves (see all in one image). It has 15 extensions with flowers: 6 pink, 5 yellow, and 4 blue. Of the yellow flowers, two are intact, two are missing 30-40% of the petals and the last one is missing approximately 20% of its petals (see image). The blue flowers have three that are missing 15-20% of the petals, one is completely intact. Of the 6 pink flowers, 1 is intact, 3 are missing 10-15% of the petals and 2 are missing 30-40% of the petals. The bowl has 5 flea-bit chips around the inner rim, the bowl receiver is intact but the finial is missing 2 clear leaves and has its petals broken. The stem or main body has 2 flowers that are missing 20% of the petals and a clear flower.
