Description
This Mid Century baroque style gold-infused Cristallo Murano chandelier features six scroll arms with petal trimmed cups, from which hang ring baubles with teardrops of glass. The center is styled with tiers of daffodils and leaves. The glasshouses on the island of Murano are renowned for their highly ornamented glass chandeliers, crafted from pincered and molded blown glass. This piece is further detailed with scroll stems, twirling leaf ends, and rigaree trim, showcasing a masterful flair in glass craftsmanship.
The body and arms of this chandelier are made of clear, colorless glass, enhanced with 24-carat gold leaf. Subtle glints of gold dispersed throughout the glass mimic the look of sunbeams when lit. Otherwise, the translucent crystalline glass seamlessly blends with any color palette. This chandelier references the ‘Ca’Rezzonico’ style of chandeliers created by Giuseppe Briati — an 18th-century Murano glass master. The ‘Ca’Rezzonico’ style is named for the Venetian palace, today a public museum dedicated to 18th century Venice, where Briati’s initial masterpiece resides.
This piece demonstrates a delicate Baroque-style design, beloved by many, resulting in a shimmering floral light centerpiece. The golden Cristallo glass enchants with the illusion of sunlight, elevating any interior with a touch of natural beauty.
