A wonderful Vintage Chinoiserie Tole – Peinte Accent Pendent light. Chinoiserie was the evocation of Chinese motifs and decoration by European fascination with the Orient. The pendent bowl is shaped as an inverted stupa/pagoda to convey the Asian influence in this Arts and Crafts period fixture. It is painted with lovely images of a garden composed with chrysanthemums, cherry blossoms, and maidens. It is finished with a multicolor tassel in the same color palette. Makes a delightful accent light in a traditional or modern setting.

The fixture has been rewired to meet US electrical standards. It takes one regular base light. The light can use up to max of 60 watts. We recommend using LED lights because they help preserve the antique fixtures longer.

The top of the fixture is not a canopy and does flush to the ceiling. You can check with your electrician and see if he knows how to adapt the top to act as a canopy. If he cannot adapt it, then it will require at least one link of chain and canopy at the top for installation. The canopy is not included. Please check with your electrician or contractor for additional specifics on installing antique chandeliers.

There is some wear and faintness on the paint from age. But overall, it is in good condition for its age. Keep in mind that light is aimed towards the top and is inside the opaque pendent bowl, so it acts as an accent light, rather than general or task lighting.
