Description

This exceptional Murano chandelier captures the luminous interplay between clarity and opacity that defines Venetian glass artistry. The central body combines translucent and opaque lattimo glass, skillfully layered to create soft internal swirls of white that seem to float beneath the surface. The outer curling glass arms, formed in the rigadin ritorto style, feature clear crystal infused with minute air bubbles and gentle twisting ribs, giving each arc a lively, liquid motion.

The bowl is a striking highlight — a masterful fusion of pulegoso and mold-blown optic ribbing. Pulegoso, derived from the Murano term puleghe (“bubbles”), is characterized by countless tiny air inclusions that lend the glass a semi-opaque, effervescent texture. This prized technique, developed by Napoleone Martinuzzi in the late 1920s, gives the bowl its distinctive foamy radiance, enriched further by the rhythmic ribs that diffuse light in a soft, silken glow. A timeless expression of Murano craftsmanship where air, fire, and light converge in perfect harmony.
