Large Circa 1930 French Louis XV Style Nickel on Bronze Lantern

In stock

Large Circa 1930 French Louis XV Style nickel on bronze lantern. Made in the 1930s, this lantern was possibly commissioned after a period lantern, since it is entirely hand-made during a time when lighting was already manufactured. Excellent proportions made of cast bronze with neoclassical architectural details and hand-cut and etched curved glass panels. Makes a grand statement in a hallway or entryway with tall ceilings.

This chandelier has been rewired to meet US electrical standards and takes 6 base light bulbs. Each light bulb can use up to a max of 60 watts. We recommend using LED lights because they help preserve antique fixtures longer. Antique fixtures must be adapted to modern homes. This fixture requires a canopy and chain that are not included to hang from the ceiling. Please check with your electrician or contractor for additional specifics on installing antique lighting.

There are some slight imperfections due to the chandelier being handmade. It is not missing any of the bronze mounts or moldings. The frame is bronze but some of the components are brass. There is some wear on the nickel from age. The glass panels have no missing parts or repairs. We will be happy to provide additional images upon request.
