This distinct style of chandeliers is attributed to a South American Italian chandelier design firm known as “Castriota y Possetti”. They are made using hand cast dark florentine bronze. The body is heavily etched in the Rococo style having acanthus leaf arms. Throughout, crystal flowers and rosettes are added to convey an old-world romantic European look that is timeless.

| Condition | This chandelier has been rewired to meet US electrical standards and takes 4 candelabra light bulbs. Each light bulb can use up to a max of 60 watts. We recommend using LED lights because they help preserve antique fixtures longer. Antique fixtures must be adapted to modern homes. This fixture requires a canopy and chain that are not included to hang from the ceiling. Please check with your electrician or contractor for additional specifics on installing antique lighting. All the crystals are complete, none are missing. One of the crystal flower finials has a fracture but is not broken. There are also five slight chips on the tips of the petals of the flowers. All the pieces to this chandelier are original. All the bronze moldings are complete. One of the acanthus leaf moldings has a fracture that is not readily noticeable (see closeup image). The chandelier has slight light scratches and a rich patina due to its antiqueness. Overall, in good condition. We will be happy to provide more close-up images upon request. |
