19th Century carnelian cameo brooch of noble lady in Elizabethan ensemble. This is a hand carved white to red banded carnelian cameo of lady facing left. She wears an elaborate square neckline and a high lace ruff showcasing a pendant necklace. She is mature in age and wearing a cross on her bosom. The carnelian is set in an 18K gold bezel within a scroll work frame. Any lady wearing the brooch will exude the pride and regality of the noble lady on the brooch.

Condition

The trombone clasp and pin closure are in good working order. The gold and hard stone have microscopic scratches from age. The hard stone is intact and in one solid piece, pristine, without chips or scratches. There are some spots where the scroll work frame is soldered onto the bezel, but all is intact.
