Pair of elegant demilune console tables in the Louis XVI manner, each featuring a shaped marble top over a conforming case with two drawers. The mahogany-veneered oak frame features a mahogany veneer of fine marquetry inlay and cast gilt bronze mounts and hardware that include circular ring pulls and decorative foliate mounts. Raised on gracefully curved saber legs terminating in bronze sabots.

The gray marble tops show attractive white veining and retain good polish. Bronze mounts are cast rather than stamped, indicating quality construction. Drawers are fitted with period-appropriate brass hardware.

These pieces retain original labels, including “Made in France,” confirming their European origin.

Condition

Good overall condition consistent with age and use. Minor surface scratches and small areas of veneer loss throughout. Occasional minor veneer bubbling. Slight joint checking at leg-to-case connections from natural wood movement over time, typical of solid wood construction.

One Table is slightly lighter in color than the other. Drawer keys are not present. Inside one of the drawers, is a replacement mounting nut, for the brass pulls.

The marble tops are in good condition with typical minor surface scratches consistent with age. Bronze mounts retain good definition with some expected patina variation.

Original manufacturer labels present, but show age-related wear, including staining and partial tearing; however, the text remains legible.
