Description
Prized for their elegance, along with the intricacy of techniques and history, Murano glass chandeliers continue to add brilliance to modern and traditional homes. This Midcentury Modern clear glass chandelier that resembles a lotus flower is no exception. It has designs developed by Ercole Barovier, which continue to inspire and influence glass artists today.
The extensions are decorated with Bulliante and Rigaree to resemble leaves. “Bullicante” is a glass-blowing technique in which the glassmaker intentionally creates and controls bubbles within the glass to form desired patterns. “Rigaree” is a decorative process that creates texture and a desired raised pattern.
The glass bowl has a different “Rigaree” design emanating from the brass center finial. The stem is decorated with a combination of layered techniques that simulates water flowing into the bowl. All in all, this chandelier was created with intricate and beautiful designs that give the feel of crystalline water that glistens when lit and lives up a room.
