Circa 1890 Italian carved onyx cameo brooch/ pendant. Carved white to black with head of a beauty in profile mounted on an 18k rose gold bezel. The repoussé 18K rose gold frame is simple but elegant. The carving is intricately cut to emphasize the curls in her hair, details of her dress and delicate features of her face. There is a pendent bail on the back that allows it to be used as a brooch or pendent making it a versatile fashion accessory.

| Condition | Has a Push-pull/Trombone catch. The pin closure is in good working order. The gold and onyx have faint scratches that are normal from use over time. The onyx is intact and in one solid banded piece. There might be some slight imperfections in the carving since it was hand carved making this a unique piece. Some slight patina on the rose gold, simple but elegant, repoussé frame. There is some denting visible on the back lower rim of the frame. Unsure if the denting is original or caused by damage. There is a pendent bail on the back that allows it to be used as a brooch or pendent. |
