Description
A pair of unsigned, Circa 19th century, oils on canvas of landscape paintings depicting the turquoise shores of the gulf of Naples. One painting shows Mount Vesuvius in the background, as people leisurely enjoy gondola rides. The other painting, on the opposite side of the shore, has the Santa Chiara monastery. There are over 500 churches in Naples which is why it is called “La città delle cinquecento cupole” or City of 500 Cupolas. The artist emphasized the tranquility of the region with soft brushstrokes and the pastel turquoise color palette. They fit perfectly in a bedroom, bathroom, or anywhere one needs a soothing effect.
These pieces weigh approximately 6 lbs. each.
