Charles Vickery (born 1910 to 1998) is an American painter best known for his naturalistic depictions of historic ships in the open ocean. Charles Vickery is regarded as one of the finest seascape artists of our time. His exceptional ability to depict scenes that draw you into the experience and beauty of the sea make his paintings an ongoing delight. This piece features a large ship with multiple sails, smoothly sailing over turquoise waves. The sky is a lovely open blue and in the background is a cliff. The signature appears on the lower right.
Canvas is 16″W x 12″H. It is nicely placed in a dark brown wooden frame that makes the colors stand out. Measurements with the frame are 18.5″H x 22.5″W x 2″D. The frame can be painted if another color is desired. This is an enjoyable gift for lovers of the sea.
