Description

This elegant George III circular giltwood mantel mirror exemplifies the refined craftsmanship of the late 18th century, during the reign of King George III of Great Britain. The period is celebrated as a golden age of furniture, with designs emphasizing balance and drawing inspiration from Ancient Greek aesthetics.

The mirror is hand-carved with neoclassical designs, including a circular egg and dart pattern, scrolling acanthus leaves, bellflowers, and inner beaded molding, and it showcases thick and remarkably intact giltwork.

Mantel mirrors, distinct from common household mirrors, are designed to complement fireplaces, adding structure and a welcoming atmosphere to any room.

With its historical significance and opulent design, this mirror will enhance the elegance of a fireplace, guest bathroom, or hallway. Just about anywhere it is placed, it casts an aura of opulence.
