Set of eight painted distressed creamy white Louis XVI style side chairs attributed to Maison Jansen. Maison Jansen is a legendary interior design house located in Paris and is considered the first truly global design firm. These fine side chairs are hand carved and painted. They have a subtle gold gilt trim on the backs, seats and top front legs. Upholstered in a lovely powder blue fabric that is embroidered with an exquisite floral design and trimmed with matching gimp. This set goes nicely with the Circa 1940 Maison Jansen Gold and Silver Gilt Table.

Each chair weighs approximately 10 lbs. Total of 80 lbs.

Some of the moldings have old repairs but are complete. Some of the moldings have deep scratches that blend into the distressed look. Other light scratches are not readily noticeable. The chairs are sturdy and firm for everyday use. The chairs were hand painted a creamy distressed white. The hand carved trim on the backs, seats and front legs are accented with understated gold gilt. However, the slight scratches are not readily noticeable. The chairs are sturdy and firm.
