Description
This colorful handcrafted gold-infused Cristallo Murano chandelier has four undulating arms with petal trim round bobeches. The chandelier is adorned with two levels of green glass leaves and a set of daffodils, blooming up and surrounding the small bulbous center column. Hanging from each leaf and arm are an assortment of hanging pink-colored baubles. The arm baubles resemble clusters of raspberries. The piece has further detailing of scroll stems and rigaree trim; exhibiting a masterful flair in glass craftsmanship.
The glass houses on the island of Murano are famous for highly ornamented glass chandeliers made of pincered and molded blown glass. This elegant chandelier showcases a mastery of Venetian glass craftsmanship. This mid-century chandelier is a pared-down interpretation of the ‘Ca’Rezzonico’ style of chandeliers created by Giuseppe Briati in the 18th century. The ‘Ca’Rezzonico’ style is named for the Venetian palace, today a public museum dedicated to 18th century Venice, where Briati’s initial masterpiece resides. The body and arms of this piece are made of Venetian glass enhanced with 24-carat gold leaf. The subtle glints of gold concentrated on the trim, leaves, and flowers enchant the illusion of sunlight.
A splendid combination of glimmering gold, green, and raspberry pink. This piece is distinguished by its opulent combination of hues, reminiscent of spring florals. This chandelier demonstrates a delicate conversion of modern and Baroque-style design still loved by many, resulting in a glistening floral centerpiece. An example of refinement and ephemeral beauty, this chandelier is truly captivating and elevates any interior.
