Condition

Both chairs are in stable condition. Being hand carved, no two carvings are identical. The gilt and off-white paint is worn in a few spots and has been professionally retouched without taking away from the distressed look. There are some nicks, scratches, and scrapes on either or both the paint and wood. There is a slight separation on the right side joint, on the back carving (see image) of one of the chairs. However, the separation does not make it unstable. One of the chairs has an old sticker stain on the black muslin upholstery. One of the seats has engraved "Jansen" (see image) on the back seat under the muslin. We think they would look spectacular upholstered with Anaconda Velvet from House of Hackney.
