Condition

Gorgeous tray is heavy, and thick. There are some light nicks and scratches, but they do not distract from the beauty of the tray. The back is stamped with Reed and Barton, 5601 23, Regent and EPNS for Electro Plated Nickel Silver. Electroplate is formed when a thin layer of pure or sterling silver is deposited electrolytically on the surface of a base metal. This tray has no wear through the plating and no restorations. Nickel's resemblance to silver helps disguise any worn spots that develop over time. Some microscopic specks of rust forming on the back of the handles.
