Originally the chandelier was lit with candles so it has been rewired on the outside of the frame. The electrical wire has been camouflaged as inconspicuously as possible. It has been rewired to meet US electrical standards. It requires twelve candelabra base light bulbs; eight on the outside and four inside. Each light bulb can use up to a maximum of 60 watts. We recommend using LED lights because they help preserve the antique fixtures better and longer. Antique chandeliers might have to be adapted to modern houses. Please check with your electrician or contractor for additional specifics on installing antique chandeliers. This chandelier uses a canopy and chain which is not included.

There are no missing crystals and none of the crystals have chips. It has a nice patina and wear on the silver leaf throughout . Due to the intricate crystal beadwork and thin metal frame, it can snap, if handled inappropriately. It requires special handling, packing, and white glove delivery. Weighs 50 lbs.
