A Pair of Circa 1750 English Battersea Enamel Candlesticks

In stock

Considered the finest of its kind to be produced in England during the mid-18th century, these lovely candlesticks could retail up to $5,000 if they were in good condition. The Battersea factory was short-lived, operated from 1753-1756, which makes these beauties quite rare. These candlesticks are looking for a special home that will appreciate the beauty and history behind them.

Each weighs approximately 1 lb.

These candle sticks have visible cracks including cracks in the glaze and surface layer of the porcelain. It has chips and blemishes, in our opinion, bad restoration. One of the candles has a metal base underneath to strengthen it structurally. Due to the fragile nature, we do not recommend using them as working candlesticks, but rather for display. Please make sure to inspect the images. However, we will be happy to provide more images upon request.
