Circa 1890-1910 French Jewel Escape Movement Bronze and Marble Three Piece Clock and Candle Garniture. The clock piece of this set features three bronze putti holding up a black spherical Roman numeral clock. The clock face also has bronze stars pasted on and the hand of the clock is in the shape of a slithering snake. The two candelabras are cast to look like putti holding up a basket of roses that form into the three candle holders. Overall, this piece is both artistic and exquisite and would make a beautiful addition to any room of the home. You can display the garniture set together on a mantel or individually on separate surfaces. The bells play every hour and a half hours quietly.

Condition

There is wear on the gilt and light scratches throughout, but no chips or repairs to the metal or marble. We magnified a corner of the marble base that has a tiny stain on the marble but is not a repair (see image). The metal also has a rich patina from age that emphasizes the details of the castings.

The clock is in running condition, with original movement, and no missing pieces or repairs. It comes with a key and plays bells every hour and every half hour, softly. It may be too soft for some to hear.
