19th Century Italian crescent moon sterling silver knife. Crescent moon knives are usually used to cut herbs. Also called a “Demi-Lune” or Mezzaluna (half-moon) knife. Mezzalunas are typically used for mincing herbs or garlic, but it can be used for chopping other things such as cheese or pesto. The knife itself has a lovely engraved herb motif on top of the blade. The blade is only on the outer portion of the knife. Perfect gift for someone who has their own herb garden.
