19th C. Oil on canvas, John Fredrick Herring Jr.
19th Century oil painting on canvas. Artist, John Frederick Herring Jr (signed lower left corner) was the son of famed artist John Frederick Herring Sr, who at the time was considered one of England`s great sporting and equestrian artists. In the mid 1830s, John Frederick Herring Jr became very popular, with a more loose brush stroke style and a widened landscape view. This one of a kind painting features four grazing horses, a small group of ducks, and a few roosters. Fantastic brush work and a gorgeous soft color palette.
