Adolphus Knell is one of the sons of the renowned marine painter William Adolphus Knell. Like his father, Adolphus Knell also enjoyed painting seascapes. This particular piece features a fleet of ships on a rocky sea. What catches the eye immediately is the red buoy that is off center. The ships are all pointed and orientated where the direct `light` is. The color palette is mainly in the green and blue family, creating this cool tone. It is a spectacular picture that exudes both a sense of calmness and movement. Many of his paintings are considered quite collectable. Weighs approximately 5lbs. Board: 18"H x 12"W. With frame: 18.5"H x 24.5" W x 2" D
